Hi, my name's Steven.

I completed my B.A. (Honours) at UVic in 2011, with an honours thesis that developed a model of the impact of university patenting and innovation on the private sector. It's kind of complicated, but if you want to read it, it's up here.

Academically, I'm primarily interested in intellectual property, alternate forms of intellectual property, and the social implications of various intellectual property regimes. More broadly interested in microeconomics, and love to play around in models and statistics. If I can tease out policy implications to something, then all the better.

I like picking the perfect words to express something, but I'm rubbish at coming up with topics or themes to write about. As such, I make an excellent copy editor and an awful lyricist.

In my free time, you can can probably find me fiddling with my bike, trying to install some strange operating system on some strange piece of hardware I've managed to find myself with, or strumming along with the four or five chords I've taught myself on my uke.
